Shining Bright: 3M's Michelle Branbenburg
3M says its new generation of micro prismatic vehicle marking technology is thinner and more flexible than its first generations.
“It allows us to cover difficult surfaces and follow the contours of vehicles more easily,” says Rik Nuyttens, 3M’s business development manager reflective commercial.
“With micro prisms you can retain much higher reflectivity and make very natural and vivid colours. It gives a vehicle much better aesthetics.”
Nuyttens says 3M’s micro prism vehicle marking products, launched for lorry canvas late last year and being fully launched for other vehicles after Intertraffic 2012, are the fruit of three years research. They come in two designs which can be fitted with multiple types of adhesive.
“Micro prism markings are also good for work zone construction safety equipment such as cones and barriers,” adds Nuyttens.
