Combined free flow toll collection and enforcement
Vitronic will be exhibiting for the first time its new TollChecker generation for multi-lane free-flow tolling on a single gantry. Providing an insight to the future of toll collection and enforcement, the compact, light-weight design incorporates advanced technology for reliably detecting, identifying and classifying all kinds of vehicles. This product has already been chosen for the “Ecotaxe” project in France, a distance-based tax for trucks over 3.5 tons in weight on national roads that will be implemented in 2013. This latest generation TollChecker, based on LIDAR technology, will monitor about 1,000 road lanes all across France and provide fully automatic vehicle detection, classification and identification by license plate in free-flowing traffic.
Vitronic will also be highlighting PoliScanspeed and PoliScanredlight speed and red light enforcement systems. As the company points out, no in-road equipment is needed to trigger the devices and multiple vehicles on multiple lanes can be tracked easily, even in demanding situations such as curves or road-work areas. The latest software includes many new features and make the system’s handling easier. Vitronic will also be introducing a remote-controlled adjustable tripod head that allows for automatic calibration of its mobile system.
