Innovative pothole repair system
Nu-Phalt Group will be at Intertraffic to demonstrate how its unique thermal heaters deliver permanent first time pothole repair solutions. Repairs cover road defects ranging from potholes, joint failures, utility tracks, metal work, cracks and crazing to footpaths. The company claims its innovative system is cheaper, permanent, safer and more sustainable. Another benefit is the ability to recycle existing material, deliver a seamless joint, and negating future water ingress.
Nu-Phalt will also be highlighting the latest addition to its operation. Jetpatcher has recently been added for cost effective rural repairs that are fast, efficient and sustainable. The process involves clearing the pothole / defect by compressed air, tack coating, filling the pothole with mixture of aggregate and bitumen and finally covering the mix with a thin layer of pure aggregate.
According to Robert Muir, Nu-Phalt sales director, “We would specify Nu-Phalt for urban roads, including areas near utilities and parked cars, due to its precision and quality. In rural areas, with much reduced traffic, the Jetpatcher system would be a more appropriate solution.”
