Visitors to the AGD stand at this year’s Intertraffic will see the company’s latest generation AGD307 series 24GHz Doppler radar vehicle detector. According to the company, its compact size, ideal for on-street deployment, belies the outstanding detection performance offered by this entry level radar which is highly versatile. Applications for the 307 range from junction control through sign activation to temporary traffic control.
Initial interest in the 307 is very positive from a number of markets, says AGD. Customers especially like the ease of set-up using a combination of DIP and rotary switches. Extended vehicle detection range of 150 metres can be achieved by choosing the high sensitivity setting.
AGD will also be featuring the new FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) AGD316 vehicle radar for the detection of stationary vehicles at the stop line. Following on from the successful AGD315 radar platform developed a number of years ago for SCOOT, MOVA and queue detection applications, the new 316 range takes the learning from the earlier FMCW families and further applies latest planar antenna technology and advanced embedded DSP processing to the international requirement for stop line detection.
According to the company, customers can now take advantage of the capabilities of this new radar which is able to track multiple targets approaching the stop line simultaneously, knowing the positioning of each vehicle at all times. The radar then provides solid detect outputs to the local controller for vehicles waiting at the stop line / traffic lights thereby taking the place of high maintenance stop line inductive loops.
