Robert Priestley with the iStud vehicle detection technology
The novel new iStud vehicle detection technology from Traffic Tech offers ease of installation as well as an array of user capabilities. The product can be specified as a simple vehicle detector for parking applications or can be made available with more sophisticated capabilities allowing the size and speed of vehicles to be assessed.
At its most basic it can be used in access control applications while the more sophisticated version can be used in used at traffic lights or for vehicle classification needs. The iStud is easy to install as it can be simply glued in place on concrete or asphalt and does not required any slots to be cut in the surface.
The iStud is just 30mm high and is said to be durable and long lasting. It is supplied with a 900mm long straight section that protects the wire connection from the kerbside. The edge of the iStud can be cut to permit a close with the wire protector.
In addition, the company is also offering a wireless train detector with similar capabilities. Customers can specify this as required, with a simple and low cost train detector or as a more sophisticated system capable of determining speed.
