Video detects traffic flow, incidents, pedestrians
Traficon’s appearance at Intertraffic coincides with the company’s 20th birthday and that won’t be the only cause for celebration on its stand. An important new product in the company’s video image processing range of products will be unveiled during the event.
Traficon’s Video Image Processor (VIP) range combines traffic flow monitoring and automatic incident detection functionality in one single board. The VIP-T module analyses images from analogue cameras. VIP-IP can connect to a broad range of IP cameras, supporting both MPEG-4 and new H.264 video compression. Traficon will use Intertraffic to present the new VIP-PTZ, a reliable video detection solution for Pan Tilt and Zoom cameras.
The company will also be highlighting its TrafiCam sensor range that combines a CMOS sensor and video detection technology in one and can be used for vehicle presence detection at signalised intersections. Next to the standard TrafiCam sensor, the company will also be featuring the TrafiCam x-stream, which is IP-addressable and includes MPEG-4 image compression and streaming video.
For pedestrian presence detectors, Traficon’s successful C-Walk and SafeWalk sensors ensure safety and efficiency for pedestrians actually crossing or waiting to cross the street. These smart video detection sensors, which are a cost-effective alternative to radar, PIR or pressure mats, will also be featured at Intertraffic.
