This morning, on its booth at the ITS World Congress, the Aimsun team is rolling out a new brand in response to its rapid growth and the changes happening in the industry. “We are no longer TSS-Transport Simulation Systems but simply Aimsun,” said Alex Gerodimos, Executive Director of Marketing and Business Development.
“Our 20th birthday coming up in November was a great occasion for us to reflect upon our journey. Our daily lives have been all about Aimsun since the 1990s, so in a sense, this is a mere formality.
“Over the last 10 years in particular, we have really taken off, growing rapidly in size and expanding internationally from our original Barcelona base to New York, Paris, Sydney, Portland, London and now Singapore. We created a brand that reflects this growth.”
Originally a microsimulator, Aimsun Next software (formerly Aimsun) has over the years become a default all-in-one, multi-level toolkit. “It’s the Swiss army knife of modelling,” says Alexandre Torday, Executive Director, Professional Services.
“We now work around the globe and around the clock with public and private partners to solve the world’s most complex mobility problems: it is no longer about cars.”
The company today also announced the rebranding of Aimsun Live (formerly Aimsun Online), a real-time traffic management product that has taken off after its award-winning deployment in San Diego’s Interstate 15 for Sandag. New deployments coming in 2018 include North America, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.
