The most important information for a connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) is its location. Accurate vehicle positioning is vital to CAV and V2X applications. Cohda Wireless introduces a new way to ensure accuracy: the new V2XLocate, debuting at ITS World Congress.

Traditional positioning with GNSS can fail in urban canyons, tunnels, parking garages and any location with a compromised sky view – even when assisted by dead reckoning sensors. V2XLocate fills this gap, allowing vehicles to be positioned with sub-meter accuracy and 95 percent confidence – regardless of GNSS availability or quality.

Augmenting current GNSS equipment, V2X-Locate combines any onboard dead reckoning sensors with ranges to any local V2X RSUs, such deployments located at signalled intersections and utilizes DSRC signals and Cohda's enhanced signal processing and positioning algorithms.

V2X-Locate also reduces costs and simplifies deployments and system integration efforts, because no extra hardware is required.
