Stephane Guidoin from the City of Montreal's Smart City office
Montreal is a progressive and innovative municipality with a forward-looking and ambitious strategic ITS plan, committed to the “smart city” concept – that is why it was chosen to host ITS World Congress this year.
To learn more about the host city, attendees are invited to visit the Ville de Montreal booth in the Smart Cities Pavilion, and become immersed in a massive, three-dimensional, interactive map displaying Montreal's smart city initiatives.
The map is set up like a game. As the map tilts, and the ball rolls through the city streets, Montreal's smart city hot spots are dramatically highlighted. You can learn about Montreal's autonomous electric light rail; real-time information on the city's bus service; bike sharing; an app that warns the public to move vehicles to make way for snow removal; another app to help citizens when vehicles are towed; Montreal's 100 percent electric bus pilot line; and much more.
