Accelerating innovation: Ralf Frisch from PTV
In the multimodal mobility ecosystem of the future, Mobility as a Service (MaaS
) will play an important role, according to PTV
Combined with real-time data and traffic prediction, drivers and passengers – as well as pedestrians and cyclists – gain benefits from a more sustainable and efficient infrastructure.
With this in mind, PTV Group introduced the MaaS Accelerator Programme which calculates business cases from the planning stage to the real-time operation phase.
The PTV MaaS Accelerator Programme is a complete portfolio of component technologies for planning MaaS operations – designed for both automotive OEMs and city governments.
PTV MaaS Modeller is the first of four components of the PTV MaaS Accelerator Programme to turn shared on-demand fleet services into successful business models. With PTV MaaS Modeller, smart cities and fleet operators can calculate exactly how many vehicles need to be integrated with other modes of transport to form a future-proof on-demand mobility ecosystem.
Additional components of the programme will include PTV MaaS Simulator, which analyses the interaction of pedestrians and bicycles with autonomous vehicles and shared mobility services; PTV MaaS Operator, which provides demand management and route optimisation; and PTV MaaS Controller, which enables integration into a city’s mobility operation system for efficient traffic management, public transport operations and network planning.
