China’s largest LED manufacturer is spreading its wings internationally, showing its latest intelligent traffic system solution for the first time outside its home market.
Shanghai Sansi has a 65% share of the domestic market, said Yan Yan Sun, deputy general manager of the company’s international signage department.
Unlike many LED manufacturers, however, the company also provided not only hardware for use on the highway but for control rooms, as well as all the software that went with it, she said.
Its new Sansi EN12966 system, whose features include LED hardware, real-time environmental monitoring and automatic and manual brightness adjustment, is already in operation in Chinese cities and works with a series of protocols, including NTCIP, MODBUS and Profibus.
Sun said that Shanghai Sansi was a typical Chinese company, in that it was a substantial company within the country but was now looking to expand overseas.
One other product that it believes could receive a welcome internationally is its new Intelligent Street Light (ISL) system, which incorporates not only an advanced luminaire but also video monitoring, a series of sensors monitoring factors such as noise and air pollution, plus a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and information display for public information or advertising. As with its intelligent traffic solution, Shanghai Sansi provides all the software for the ISL, which has already won a ‘best invention of the year’ in China, said Sun.
