New product launch: Smartmicro's Daniel Reitenauer with the traffic radar
Smartmicro (Smart Microwave Sensors
), the German specialist in automotive and traffic management radar sensors, is using this ITS World Congress to launch the new UMRR-11, 4D/HD high-definition traffic radar.
The first units of the UMRR-11 platform are being unveiled here with the market launch scheduled for Q1, 2018. The UMRR-11 will be available with two different antennas, Type 44 and Type 45.
With a range of up to 180m (590ft) and coverage of up to six lanes, the sensor combines stop bar and advance detection in one single device. By default the sensor provides (X,Y,Z) Cartesian co-ordinates or Polar co-ordinates range, azimuth, elevation angle, as well as the speed vector of up to 126 objects in the field of view.
As Smartmicro points out, most of the available radar sensors on the market separate objects by one parameter, such as speed. Smartmicro's 4D/HD technology UMRR-11 high-definition sensors separate objects by speed, range and angle, which the company says leads to robust performance, especially in dense traffic conditions.
