Under the motto “Tomorrow’s Traffic Solutions, Today” Swarco
will highlight its capabilities in modern traffic management solutions at the ITS World Congress Montréal. Visitors to the company’s booth will be introduced to topics such as Traffic Management as a Service (TMaaS) and V2X communication. For the first time, McCain
, the US #2 in ITS acquired by Swarco a year ago, will be present on the booth.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of its founding, McCain will feature its recent development of a very small controller cabinet. The McCain Backpack Cabinet offers dynamic control capabilities in a compact cabinet design (25” H x 16” W x 17” D) ideal for central business districts, school zones, downtown areas, and Hawk applications.
Swarco’s TMaaS is a new concept in traffic management that uses browser-based interfaces with easy workflows, enabling traffic management away from traditional control rooms. It addresses cities sized between 50,000 and 500,000 inhabitants and allows them to manage their traffic according to individually defined performance parameters. The TMaaS approach reduces overall cost and almost eliminates IT needs on the customer side with increasing security. The system will always be up-to-date and upgrades are managed on a service basis. The system can support different providers and follows an open approach to external suppliers. It very much increases portability and offers a perfect solution for employees who are increasingly on the move, with anytime, anywhere availability.
Swarco V2X communication solutions which will be on show address Green Light Forecast at intersection, prioritisation of emergency vehicles and public transport, in-vehicle information about road signs, and roadworks and hazard warning via mobile trailer-mounted information systems on motorways.
