Following the success of its inaugural Mobility as a Service (MaaS
) conference in London in March 2017, ITS International is announcing two further MaaS Market Conferences in 2018.
The first will take place in the City of London, at the Inmarsat Conference Centre on 20-21 February and the second will be in Atlanta, Georgia at the Loudermilk Convention Center on 9-10 May.
Colin Sowman, editor of
ITS International (pictured) is responsible for putting
the conference programmes together, and has been encouraged with the uptake so far: “Our launch MaaS Market Conference received excellent feedback. There clearly is a great demand from the public sector to gain a better insight into Mobility as a Service, as it has the very real potential to revolutionise the way in which urban communities address their future transport needs.
“ITS International’s role
is really to act as a catalyst, bringing together those who have the broadest knowledge of MaaS, with those who
wish to acquire a greater understanding of how MaaS can be implemented within their own areas of responsibility.”
Taking the MaaS Market Conference to the US was a natural progression, based upon the requirement and level of interest, and ITS International is being officially supported by Georgia’s State Road & Tollway Authority and the City of Atlanta. “We are delighted to be working with SRTA and the City of Atlanta,” Sowman added.
“Georgia has a very progressive attitude to
applying technology to help address the challenges facing its transportation system, so there was a natural fit. Chris Tomlinson (SRTA) and Faye DiMassimo (City of Atlanta) have been incredibly enthusiastic and proactive, so we are very confident our first international conference will match the quality of the London events.
“Our aim is to combine both local and global perspectives to deliver the most interesting and relevant event and we are well on course to achieve that.”
