Linda Clark of Mobile Mark
World Congress is the launchpad for Mobile Mark’s new surface-mounted sharkfin antenna for both DSRC and GPS applications.
The new version contains three antennas: two DSRC elements and a GPS or combined GPS/Glonass. This combination is designed to optimise DSRC performance for ITS applications by the use of twin elements to eliminate shadowing and provide consistent coverage in all directions. According to the company, the average DSRC gain is 4dBi with a peak of 8dBi while the GPS gain is 5dBic with a 26dB amplifier. Measuring 19cm long by 5.7cm wide and 6.4cm tall the antenna is designed for roof mounting and is also available with a magnetic mount for use in system testing and trials.
