Triplesign is showcasing a variable message sign (VMS) at the ITS World Congress which it says is cheaper and has a lower power consumption than LED versions. The Prismatic VMS requires no power for the static exposure of the image, the company adds.
According to Triplesign, the solution requires almost no power during standby and is suitable for remote applications combined with uninterruptible power supply and a smaller solar panel.
Additionally, Prismatic VMS is not limited to three signs as different parts of the unit can be operated independently.
Hans-Ivar Olsson, managing director at Triplesign, says: “For safety, the sign can provide information about accidents and the risk of an accident.”
“The signs can also provide traffic directions which can help to ease congestion, Olsson concludes.
