Hietanen: MaaS has the potential to meet congestion challenges
Technology now provides transport operators and authorities with an opportunity to compete with car ownership in the minds of consumers, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) inventor Sampo Hietanen will tell the forthcoming MaaS Market Conference in Atlanta.

“Cities worldwide are facing increasing congestion and pollution, putting additional pressure on their transport systems. Technology now has the potential to change the way people travel and MaaS brings all travel options together in one seamless on-demand service,” he will say.

In addition to Hietanen, ITS International has compiled an outstanding programme of presenters with keynotes from Zipcar founder Robin Chase and Paul Brubaker, CEO of the Alliance for Transport Innovation. Presenters from MARTA, STRA, Georgia Tech, trip planner SkedGo and the Center for Automotive Research will then analyse how on-demand services can dramatically alter the shape of transportation.

There are just two weeks remaining to book your place at the MaaS Market Conference (9 & 10 May) which is supported by the Georgia State Road & Tollway Authority (SRTA) and the City of Atlanta. The event is sponsored by A-to-Be, Cubic, Atkins, Egis, Emovis, Kapsch, Masabi, HNTB, Luminor and the IBTTA.

Attending this two-day event costs just US$675 and includes lunches, an evening networking event and refreshments.
