Boschung combats the dangers of ice

Boschung introduced the first fixed systems for spreading thawing agents some decades ago and these systems are used across Europe, North America and Asia. As visitors to the company’s stand will see, the sensors to trigger the automated system have experienced further development in recent years. Boschung says that, together with the new RCM520 early ice warning system, its IT-Sens and IT-Arctis are the most reliable sensors on the market for triggering spraying systems.

In addition, new ways to trigger spraying systems include non-invasive sensors which can detect road icing and thus generate automatic warnings. The Boschung r-condition, which the company claims is the most advanced contactless road condition monitoring sensor, is featured here at Intertraffic. This device integrates a camera that may be used to monitor the pavement like any other camera on a road weather information system (RWIS).
