Without having to intercept the vehicle, the Sterela system now legally weighs moving vehicles to detect and enforce overloading offences. The company says that this is a world-first with regards to a WIM system’s accuracy and confidence levels.

The GlobalWIM solution can be interfaced with third party applications or comes as a complete automated solution, including the back-office software that interfaces with the platform issuing fixed penalty notices to offending drivers.

The Sterela solution is ready to follow the type approval process of any country seeking to implement direct enforcement.

Visitors to the Sterela stand will also see the company’s counting systems that will provide road authorities the data and the intelligence needed to make informed daily decisions regarding road network management. There are both permanent and temporary solutions to count and classify all types of vehicles, including cyclists, on any type of road - from mixed traffic carriageways to dedicated cycle paths.
