ADEC Technologies is looking to the future when early in 2026 it will introduce the TDC3X family of overhead detectors. First in the family will be the TDC3X-T, specifically designed for data acquisition and classification in tunnels.

The TDC3 is basically a multi-sensor overhead detector designed for traffic management and statistical data acquisition, according to the company, a Swiss manufacturer of non-intrusive road traffic detectors. It can be mounted on various structures, including message signs, gantries and tunnel ceilings. TDC3 detectors are self-calibrating and provide maintenance-free operation for 10 years or longer.

The forthcoming TDC3X-T overhead detector – with multi-radar technology – is built to endure tunnel environments, including high-pressure washing. The detectors self-calibrate and classify vehicles by height profile with the highest accuracy (TLS A1) across all vehicle classes.
