AEye is showing the latest software behind its Optis Lidar system. Optis is an AI solution with integrated sensing and advanced computing across a wide variety of applications in smart transportation, safety and security. The latest version of the software box that sits together with the Lidar sensor produces significantly improved data for transmission to traffic engineers, to enable them to make the best decisions.
AEye has produced seven previous generations of Optis, but “this is the first one marketed primarily to ITS”, said Joel Benscoter, senior principal systems engineer. Previous iterations have been focused on use by the automotive industry.
The company says that its sensor provides unmatched performance and the latest version of the system gives a substantial increase in quality data, especially over longer ranges, providing information on vehicles, pedestrians, wrong-way detections and red light runners.
