David St. Claire of Flir

Attendees here have an opportunity to experience first-hand how Flir technology uses AI to optimise traffic data, enhancing the safety and efficiency of today’s cities.

Flir’s cameras, sensors and software are revolutionising traffic flow on roadways worldwide. Its unmatched, field-proven solutions help vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists move safely and smoothly through complex urban and interurban environments. Flir’s AI-enabled devices draw on the largest datasets to improve object classification and analyse critical variables that aid in optimising traffic flow and recognising situations requiring rapid emergency response.

Here in Atlanta, Flir is showcasing Flir TrafiBot AI, which enhances traffic management and safety through embedded AI and Flir AID algorithms. Its 3D world tracker predicts speed and trajectory even when vehicles are obscured. Designed for easy tunnel installation with a tilt sensor, stainless steel housing, and 4K resolution, it delivers reliable incident detection and traffic data in interurban settings.

Flir is also demonstrating Flir TrafiOne, an all-in-one traffic sensor for monitoring and dynamic signal control. Using thermal imaging and Wi-Fi, it adapts signals to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, even in darkness or adverse weather, improving traffic flow and safety.

Another highlight is TrafiSense AI, a thermal imaging sensor equipped with edge-based AI that detects and classifies multiple road users under any lighting conditions. It intelligently controls intersections, protects vulnerable users, and gathers detailed traffic data to support smarter, safer and more efficient urban traffic management.
