Q-Free's GDOT deployment is peach of a deal

Attendees at this year’s ITS World Congress are the first to experience Q-Free’s new cybersecure traffic signal control software – Dynamic Signals. Unlike legacy firmware reliant on outdated or insecure protocols like SNMPv1, Dynamic Signals delivers end-to-end encryption, secure API-based communications, and advanced authentication—making it the first controller software in North America designed to address modern IT security requirements.

The debut coincides with today’s announcement that the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) will upgrade its statewide network of more than 8,500 signals to Dynamic Signals – marking the first statewide roll-out of the platform and setting a new benchmark for secure signal operations.

Built on the trusted logic of Q-Free’s Maxtime, Dynamic Signals brings modern IT practices to intersection control with end-to-end encryption, authenticated communications, and a secure API for integrations.

When paired with Q-Free’s Kinetic Mobility ATMS, agencies can enable centralised user management and federated authentication, aligning field operations with enterprise security expectations.

Q-Free is showcasing Dynamic Signals in live demonstrations at its stand throughout the week. It will host a follow-up webinar on September 11 to explore the cybersecurity challenges facing today’s traffic networks and demonstrate how Dynamic Signals closes the gap.
