Advances in ANPR camera technology
In its second appearance at Intertraffic, Imagsa is introducing the new all-in-one Atalaya ANPR camera. According to the company, some of its more impressive technical features include an ultra fast 250FPS sensor at full 2 Megapixel resolution and its ability to detect all vehicles at 250 Km/H simultaneously on two Lanes, thus significantly reducing the investment per lane. However, Imagsa says the most valuable feature of this ANPR camera is the real-time image analysis, which is implemented in an embedded parallel computing processor, resulting in greater ANPR performance. The company says that, currently, the Atalaya ANPR camera is being successfully deployed in more than 10 countries, covering a variety of traffic applications: travel time and average speed enforcement, red light enforcement, black list control, electronic tolling, and bus lane enforcement among others.
Imagsa is also introducing the new Atalaya3D camera, a non-intrusive device to simultaneously perform ANPR and measure speed of vehicles through 3D image analysis from a pair of cameras. This stereoscopic camera achieves a claimed precision of just 1% error on speeds up to 250 Km/H and is therefore a valid substitute to speed enforcement equipment based on radar, laser or loops.
