Nadine Lubbe shows off the sleek and simplistic looking pay stations
Eye catching modern design meets 60 years of parking management experience on the Designa stand in Hall 3 at Intertraffic. Visitors may notice a distinctive feel to the design ethos at Designa: Two years ago Designa teamed up with Frog Design – brainchild of Hartmut Esslinger, creator of the ‘snow white design language’ (which was applied to Apple Mac products from 1984 to 1990).
The result was a sleek and simplistic look to Designa’s parking pay stations, matching the company’s aims to produce machines that are straightforward and logical – “that people will find easy and want to use”, says Designa’s director of marketing Nadine Lubbe. “Customers do not need to speak any particular language to use these machines. Users are guided by icons or symbols instead.”
In line with Designa’s modernistic outlook, the company’s work with electronic device app developer ilogs has created a number of parking pre-booking apps – the latest of which is a global Parking HQ app. “This is for operators to sign up to so people can find the nearest and best car park for their needs,” Lubbe says.
Furthermore, with regard to modernity, Designa provides cloud computing car park management, but is emphasising its experience in such services. On the Designa stand at Intertraffic a counter is showing over 77 million transactions over the company’s ASP Cloud Plus service since it was established in 2008 – and counting. The number is likely to exceed 78 million this week. Lubbe says: “We are one step ahead, with a lot of experience, delivering systems for partners and parking operators in 55 different countries.”
