From Sony comes a new compact, digital colours camera with high definition performance
Compact best effective: Sony's Stephane Clauss
Sony Europe is now offering a compact colour camera module. This product comes from the firm’s Image Sensing Solutions division and broadens the range of FCB block cameras with digital outputs.
It measures just 50x47.6x54.2mm and has been designed for use in restricted space applications. Despite its small size, the FCB-SE600 features a motorised optical zoom, high definition picture quality and Sony’s Exmor 1/2.8 type CMOS sensor.
The camera has been precision engineered to deliver sharp image quality, even in low light conditions. It outputs in eight modes to usual standards, allowing images to be optimised within various platforms for speed, resolution and bandwidth, while it is suited to applications such as public transportat, where size and sensitivity are vital.
To further reduce size, the 83gramme Sony camera has a round edged design and incorporates a wide-angle 3x vari-focal lens. The FCB-SE600 has Auto ICR, Wide D, privacy zone masking, noise reduction and motion detection. It also offers an array of variable shutter speed and image effects.
The module has a 90o maximum viewing angle, can work in temperatures of -5 and +60oC and humidity levels of 20-80 per cent. It consumes less than 1.2W from a 5-5.5V source and uses the VISCA camera control interface.
