JMB Manufacturing launches Tall Spring Return Signpost

Australian company JMB Manufacturing claims it is launching a world first at Intertraffic 2012 with its ‘Tall Spring Return Signpost’.

The self-recovering 2.8metre high steel signpost is fitted with a 600x600mm aluminium sign which, according to JMB, retains all the recovery and realignment features of the original European patent pending Spring Return Signpost. It is also said to be capable of being fitted with different interchangeable post options, ensuring that the signpost’s base unit can be adapted to specific requirements of different locations.

The Tall Spring Return Signpost’s forced rotation feature, successfully impact tested at 70kmh, uses the energy of the impact to force rotate the post and sign towards the ground minimising damage to both the vehicle and the signpost. The signpost then springs back into its original upright position.

The Tall Spring Return Signpost’s steel construction means it is not susceptible to UV degradation. It is also said to be 100% recyclable, and perform equally well in extreme heat and cold conditions.

Also being unveiled at Intertraffic 2012 are Solar Illuminated and Spring Return Bollards, the latter coming in light resistance and heavy resistance form.

The Solar Illuminated Bollards can operate on just four hours of sunlight a day and, according to JMB, can operate for several days in overcast conditions.

The new range are said to be ideal for any location including municipal buildings, commercial buildings, parks and gardens, walkways, cycle ways, schools and hotels.

JMB says the solar bollards require no expensive wiring or electrical connections and are operable following simple mounting installation.
