Multi-tracking radar aids mobile speed enforcement
Swedish company, Sensys Traffic, is coming to Intertraffic with a new generation mobile speed enforcement system, the MSSS II, based on the company’s multi-tracking radar. This wide-beam radar unit, capable of tracking multiple vehicles simultaneously, uses a lobe that oversees up to four traffic lanes up to 150 metres deep. Vehicles moving within the detection zone are continuously tracked and their movements analysed. Speed is determined using the Doppler effect and verified by calculating distance over time. At the pre-defined report line a picture is taken should there be a speed violation. Sensys Traffic says the combination of the dual speed measurement technologies and the application of the report line results in unparalleled accuracy and reliability whilst providing extraordinary ease of use.
