Daniel Reitenauer of Smart Microwave Sensors and Econolite's Dan Vanada with the radar technology.
has announced today that it has reached an exclusive sales and distribution agreement with Germany-headquartered Smart Microwave Sensors
(Smartmicro) to offer the Econolite branded AccuScan 600C and 1000C UMRR-0C 3DHD radar sensor technology.
The agreement is effective immediately and builds upon the partnership the two companies announced in 2014.
Econolite will have exclusive rights to offer this new radar technology in much of the North America markets, including US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean.
The Econolite/Smartmicro new radar technology represents the next-generation in high-definition detection sensors, providing new levels of forward-fire radar detection performance for advanced detection and intersection control.
“Vehicle detection is the foundation for connected and autonomous vehicle, and smart city applications,” said Econolite product champion, Scott Robinson. “This new sensor technology provides unparalleled detection resolution, range, and separation in a wireless single sensor. This is ideal in high density applications and adaptive signal timing programs.”
The AccuScan 600C and 1000C radar sensors feature a long-range, wide angle beam that provides leading-edge advanced and stop bar detection accuracy in a single sensor. “The 3D-HD capability provides enhanced detection during heavy congestion. We are excited to offer agencies this innovative technology to satisfy their challenging detection objectives,” Robinson added.
