Hexagon's Positioning Intelligence division is a global technology leader, pioneering end-to-end solutions for assured positioning on land, sea, and air, will use the ITS World Congress Copenhagen to highlight developments from its Novatel and Veripos brands who contribute decades of safety critical GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and INS (Inertial Navigation Systems) experience, including sensor fusion solutions, positioning algorithms, correction signals, post-processing software, receivers and antennas.

For automotive and autonomous driving R&D programmes, Novatel's Span GNSS+INS technology delivers easy-to-integrate packages that provide precise positioning in real-time and/or post-mission. Waypoint Software provides cm-level position and attitude solutions for applications that require accurate post-mission position, velocity or attitude, and maximises the accuracy of the ground truth trajectory. The PIM7500 is the first commercial-grade Hexagon GNSS receiver board designed specifically for autonomous automotive test fleets.

The company’s automotive software positioning engine accepts measurements from automotive grade GNSS chipsets, IMUs, and other vehicle sensors, producing an accurate position, velocity, and attitude solution. Combining the positioning engine with Hexagon Correction Services improves the positioning performance of any automotive grade GNSS solution.

According to Hexagon, its new TerraStar X GNSS correction technology enables lane level vehicle positioning in under a minute. Built on the latest PPP algorithms, TerraStar X leverages existing Hexagon capabilities in ground network infrastructure, correction data generation, and data packaging for delivery. TerraStar X testbeds are available in select markets in North America and Europe.

Hexagon points out that its safety-critical development processes comply with ISO/TS 16949, ASPICE, and ISO 26262.
