Avoid complexity, keep it simple, says ARH

Day 3
The new version of ARH’s Globessey Data Server (GDS), easily manages the gold mine of data generated in cities.

While most Smart City plans envision a mesh of networks, ARH’s recommendation is to make things simpler rather than more complex.

Instead of a multitude of separate data input systems, each with its own separate data storage – one for traffic monitoring, one for surveillance, etc. – it is best to save all captured data in a single unlimited-storage-capacity data middleware.

Automotive navigation, public transport, intelligent traffic lights, parking and toll companies, insurance companies, public safety organisations and emergency services will benefit from this, says the company.

The point is they use the same data server and they can each access what is relevant for their own efficient operation. The result is optimal use of data infrastructure, public safety and security – plus extremely fast return on investment, says ARH.
