Automotive Systems, a worldwide technology leader in the field of Lidar sensors, associated products, and software tools, will unveil a new generation of Lidar sensors - the solid state scanner. Visitors to the ITS World Congress Copenhagen will see a first model on the company’s stand. The launch of the solid state scanner is planned for 2019.
From modern assistance systems to autonomous driving, Lidar technology, precise position detection of stationary or moving vehicles — and thus one’s orientation on the road — is required.
The solid state scanner has a key benefit: With a wide vertical “viewing angle”, it generates a 3D picture of the environment. This enables autonomous driving at level three and is the next major step on the way to full automation. The solid state scanner also excels with a high resolution and range. Furthermore, the modular structure of the senor system allows a wide range of applications.
