Weigh-in-motion specialist Haenni Instruments is focusing its ITS World Congress display on its portable WL400 low-speed strip sensors.
The IP67 protected sensors have a capacity of 20t per axle work at speeds of up to 20km/h to provide an accuracy of ± 3% (excluding external factors) at 10km/h. However, the WL400 does not come with a display, instead it is equipped with a cable connector allowing any Windows-based device to be used to run the EC200 processing software.
Developed for mobile pre-selection, the system comprises of two sensors and four levelling mats which together weigh less than 80kg, fit into the boot of a car and can be set up by one person in five minutes. The 11mm thick sensors can be installed in the road for permanent applications including tolling.
