The Connected and Autonomous Vehicles International Collaboration Working Group had its inaugural meeting during the ITS World Congress with invited representatives, including governments and research establishments, from 12 countries. Hosted by UK Government-backed Meridian Mobility
and the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), the aim of the meeting is for participants to understand each other’s priorities and to collaborate on the development of CAVs rather than competing. Work will be undertaken to ensure systems are globally compatible through harmonised standards, physical testing, virtual testing and simulation, regulation and accident investigation.
The working group is intended to provide a forum for ongoing discussion and to encourage and enable collaboration at a high level across critical areas of development.
