Start-up company Triffix delivers real-time traffic condition information generated by the local authority’s control centre, directly to car drivers via ‘any and all’ methods. The Bosch subsidiary promises to deliver: ‘The right information, at the right time, at the right place.’
The system is being piloted in Stuttgart and notifies drivers of problems on the road ahead, enabling users to change their route accordingly. As proof of concept the service is initially being delivered via a dedicated app but the idea is to feed the traffic centre’s information into or through, existing navigation providers and in-car entertainment systems.
In the longer run, IoT applications such as Alexa could alert drivers of problems along their regular route before they commence their journeys - for instance while they were having breakfast.
More information about the system can be in the Area C Start-Up Connector.
