Vision 2016 Preview Austrian Institute of Technology

The Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) will be presenting its developments in image processing at Vision 2016, including a driver assistance system for trams and fully autonomous vehicles such as a modern drive-by-wire tractor recently which has been developed into a completely autonomous vehicle for use in special off-road scenarios. Sensor technologies developed by AIT can also be used in the aviation industry to detect potential obstacles both in the air and on the ground. They provide the basis for pilot assistance systems or autonomous unmanned aircraft. The key objective is to increase safety in manned aviation and to expand the applications of unmanned systems, for example, for generating situation maps for crisis and disaster management in the event of fire, floods, avalanches or large events.
