Construction group Strabag, via its Polish subsidiaries, has been awarded two contracts totalling US$117 million by Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA). Poland’s General Directorate of the National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has awarded Egis two contracts for the maintenance of telecommunication, traffic management and tolling systems on 162 kilometres of the A4 motorway between Wroclaw–Katowice in Poland. The Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is planning to invest some US$1.06 billion in the construction of a national traffic management system (KSZR). The system will be equipped cameras and sensors to provide road users with traffic data on travel times, congestion or accidents via the internet, smartphones and social networking.

Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is planning the construction of some 380 kilometres of new roads in 2014, along with a 600 kilometre expansion of the network of roads which will become part of the electronic toll system, viaToll.
