Otonomo's automotive customers can now use an AWS (Amazon Web Services) solution to transfer massive amounts of data to the cloud in near real-time.

Otonomo, a mobility platform provider, is building on its AWS partner network membership by adding support the new AWS IoT FleetWise service.

The company expects the resulting increased velocity to enable its customers to build new connected car applications.

Mike Tzamaloukas, GM IoT automotive, says the collaboration “will accelerate automakers and their partners capabilities to put this massive amount of data to use creating new and innovative solutions that will advance the entire mobility industry”.

Otonomo co-founder Ben Volkow says the announcement “helps automakers collect and transfer data to the cloud more easily and efficiently than ever before”.

The move builds on Otonomo's membership within the AWS partner network and existing integration with the AWS Connected Mobility Solution.

Otonomo supports a data ecosystem of OEMs, fleets and service providers in the transportation, mobility and automotive industries.

The company's platform ingests data points globally from vehicles as well as mobility demand data from multimodal sources, then reshapes it to accelerate new services that improve mobility and transportation.
