Optibus has teamed up with Hitachi Europe to help cities and mass transport providers decarbonise their bus fleets.

Optibus is combining its artificial intelligence (AI) platform with Hitachi's digital and operational capabilities, offering bus operators the ability to manage risk and cost when electrifying their fleet.

The EV scheduling and planning solution allows users to define charging times, locations and minimum battery levels and optimise schedules: this makes it easier to operate EV routes, meet regulatory requirements and bid for new EV business, Optibus says.

The platform powers mass transportation operations in more than 450 cities around the world, the company adds.

Mike Nugent, head of EV for Hitachi Europe, says: “Building on our own digital capability, Optibus helps us deliver zero carbon transport and supports our strategy of providing long-term turnkey solutions to our key clients.”
