The ITS America Conference & Expo 2026 call for contributions has opened.
The event takes place in Detroit, Michigan from 9-12 June 2026 under the theme 'Empowering Innovation'.
Submissions for the conference programme should fall into the following categories:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Automated Vehicles
- Digital Infrastructure
- Emerging Technologies
- Multimodal Mobility
- V2X/Connected Transportation

What are the different types of session at ITS America 2026?
Paper sessions feature individual technical and research papers submitted and presented by ITS experts and researchers.
These sessions, each focused on a common topic area, cover a broad range of themes, including the practical, economic, technological, organisational, and societal dimensions of ITS.
The goal is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge related to ITS deployment—whether improving the operational use of current systems or advancing research and development for new applications.
Each one-hour session typically includes a moderator appointed by ITS America and 3-4 authors presenting their individual work.
Special Interest Sessions are designed around a specific subject area, organised by a proposal submitter with expertise in the development and deployment of ITS.
The one-hour sessions are interactive and non-commercial, designed to foster dynamic and insightful discussions on cutting-edge innovations and their potential impact on the future of transportation.
The format typically includes a moderator and 3–4 panellists, all recruited by the session submitter/organiser.
Sessions are reviewed by a dedicated committee and papers will be peer reviewed.
Submitters will be notified by email, starting in the week of January 19, 2026.
