The future of smart transportation and sustainability are high on the agenda at ITS Australia's Summit 2025, which takes place 19–21 November in Queensland's Gold Coast.

The event, at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, is supported by Queensland Government and Transport for NSW under the theme: 'The Next Generation of ITS - Building Safer, More Sustainable Communities'.

“The Summit is the meeting point for those driving the next generation of transport systems” said Susan Harris, CEO of ITS Australia.

“It’s about turning innovation into action for safer, greener and more efficient mobility.”

There will be keynote sessions, panel discussions, technical presentations, and an exhibition showcasing ITS innovations from leading ITS vendors, service providers and start-ups.

Demonstrations from Lexus, Deloitte and QUT will be on show, with live displays of ITS in action, with autonomous vehicles, traffic management, smart infrastructure, connected mobility and data analytics among the topics covered in the sessions.

The next generation of the industry will also be in the mix, with the final day - 21 November - the ITS Australia Careers Expo offering opportunities for students to connect with universities, and over 40 potential employers spanning government, the global ITS industry and cutting-edge start-ups.

Elsewhere at the Summit, government and regulatory stakeholders will join industry and academic voices to examine the frameworks needed to support the ITS ecosystem - including on questions of safety, privacy, funding models, standardisation and cybersecurity.

The event will also look at the role of ITS technologies in reducing transport emissions, improving road safety, and supporting equitable access to mobility.

The organisers stress there will be international participants - as speakers and delegates - from Michigan, California, Singapore, Korea, Greece, Germany, UK and Ireland.

The Summit will be held concurrently with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC) - located at the Star Grand in Broadbeach - and presenting "the perfect opportunity for attendees to gain a different perspective on the ITS industry", ITS Australia suggests.
