Tattile has launched Stark OCR Cloud, a cloud-based service that extends the capabilities of its embedded OCR (optical character recognition) technology.
Tattile said that the recognition and detection performance of Stark OCR Cloud surpasses that of the embedded solution, especially in the most challenging cases.
The embedded OCR and cloud OCR solutions developed by Tattile are entirely separate and do not overlap.
They are built by different teams and serve distinct purposes. The embedded OCR is specifically tailored for real-time processing directly within Tattile’s camera hardware.
Meanwhile, the cloud OCR provides more extensive processing power and additional features that can complement the embedded solution or operate independently.
Stark OCR Cloud can be used as a second-level solution when integrated with Tattile’s cameras, providing enhanced processing and advanced analysis capabilities.
Alternatively, it can function as a first-level solution with all other types of cameras, offering a complete OCR solution for any setup.
Stark OCR Cloud can be deployed on-premises, hosted and run directly on the customer’s own infrastructure, rather than relying on an external cloud provider.
Organisations have the flexibility to keep the entire OCR processing pipeline within their own data centres, ensuring greater control over the system, data and security.
Alternatively, Tattile offers Stark OCR Cloud as a fully-managed, Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud solution, requiring no infrastructure from the customer.
The system runs in a secure, GDPR and local regulation compliant cloud environment with a guaranteed SLA of 99.9% uptime.
The result is a maximum of only eight hours of downtime per year, said the company. This SaaS approach allows rapid deployment, scalability and simplified maintenance for customers which prefer a hands-off infrastructure model.
This ANPR software is developed using different technologies and is trained on an extensive dataset of over 10 million images collected from Tattile’s cameras and other devices.
The system is resolution-independent. This means it is compatible with Tattile and third-party camera systems, offering a scalable and flexible solution for organisations looking to improve their existing infrastructure.
Furthermore, Stark OCR Cloud provides “review automation” to automate the manual review process with 99.9% correct reading. This allows for a significant decrease in manual labour, minimising operational costs and human error.
An important feature of Stark OCR Cloud is its image format compatibility, which supports JPEG image formats and ensures seamless integration with a wide range of devices.
Additionally, Tattile offers an optional BCCM (brand, colour, class, model recognition) feature, allowing customers to optimise performance based on specific needs.
The ANPR software supports easy integration via REST APIs, allowing smooth and fast connectivity with third-party systems such as tolling platforms, access control and city management platforms.
Even in the event of a connection failure, Tattile said it can guarantee that the OCR Cloud remains operational for a limited period of time, maintaining functionality and reducing downtime.
Stark OCR Cloud is GDPR-compliant. The system ensures that vehicle images are retained only for the duration necessary to process its data, offering a “privacy-friendly” solution.
