RTB raises a glass to innovation

September is Oktoberfest on the stand of RTB where visitors can get into that festive feeling while viewing the latest products and systems from the German ITS innovator. On display are equipment for traffic light systems such as pushbuttons, which are available in a wide variety of designs ranging from mechanical and sensor-based to touchless versions. Included is the Acoustic BLX which guides blind and visually impaired people safely across road crossings.

Meanwhile, LOC.id technology – live at the stand – is an app-based kind of 'digital guide dog' for everyday situations. At traffic lights its sounds get automatically louder as soon as a user approaches. At construction sites there is acoustic guidance and for buses and trains it will ‘speak’ and provide clear information about the position of the doors. In the case of e-scooters, it gives acoustic warnings.
