The architecture for access control terminals is the same, but their fronts are configurable, based on their various functions: issuer, reader or payment devices.

The design of the payment equipment allows for the configuration of the necessary peripherals required for each installation, including high-capacity solutions for coin, plus acceptance and recycling modules for banknotes, as well as cashless solutions using credit cards. The systems use 10-inch or 18-inch touchscreens.

When integrated with the Meypar Control System, the new Evo series enables any type of operation, including ticketless, freeflow, interaction with external platforms, centralisation and remote control.

The new machines are more compact than their predecessors and have improvements including a new scanner to read passes. “The new scanner performs a lot better than before,” said Meypar research and development manager, Ferran Ribe. Its predecessor sometimes struggled in low-light conditions, he explained.

The Evo range went on sale in January and has already racked up sales in Mexico and Spain.
