As Monali Shah, head of industry solutions, Google Public Sector, explains, analytics, AI and machine learning are gaining more awareness but can still feel intimidating.

AI and analytics are not just buzzwords. They are being used to underpin data driven decision-making, as well as gain new insights to improve safety, mobility, climate resilience, infrastructure investments, knowledge management, and more,” Shah, who is moderating the session, explains.

“At Google, we are democratising the use of technology by making it accessible and usable.  The challenges we face as an industry are pressing and we need new approaches to address them.  We need to accelerate the path to safer mobility, climate resilience and equity.  There is a window of opportunity to act. Speed to insight and action matters,” says Shah. “This session is designed around outcomes such as streamlining business processes, building analytics platforms, and proactive and data driven approach.  We have brought together leaders who can share their practical approaches to using technology to get to their mission outcomes and address the mindset and culture change that comes with it.” Panellists will include Carlos Braceras, executive director, Utah Department of Transportation; Ed Sniffen - deputy director, Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division; Ashley Nylen, assistant director for mobility technology within the Office of Innovative Mobility, Colorado Department of Transportation; and Everett Lott, director, District Department of Transportation.
