AWS Innovation Competition nears climax

The ITS America 2021 Annual Meeting Innovation competition, sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS) will reach its climax today with the selection of the winners from the 11 finalists.

AWS has put up $25,000 in credits for the competition, with this year’s theme being sustainability and resiliency in transportation. Projects from the finalists will be able to adopted and implemented by public agencies and other organisations working to increase sustainability and resiliency in their transportation systems.

Sustainability and resiliency in transportation covers a wide variety of topics. Deployments can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and range to projects that make the transportation sector more resilient to the impacts of climate change.

The 11 finalists battling for the top prize are GridMatrix; SFC Energy; Moonshadow Mobile; Flow Labs; Moonshadow Mobile; Consensus Systems Technologies (ConSysTec); University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; LYT; Integrated Roadways; Inrix; and Velodyne Lidar. They will give a pitch presentation to a final judging panel today and the overall winner will receive $12,500 in AWS credits that can be used towards any product or service within the AWS console. There are also prizes of $7,500 and $5,000 for the runners up.
