The German Autobahn of the Federal Government has tasked Kapsch TrafficCom with upgrading thousands of message signs. Under the project, mobile barrier boards indicating limited-time work sites will be equipped with so-called ITS Roadside Stations (IRS), which send warning messages directly to approaching vehicles. This will reduce the risk of accidents in dangerous road works areas, as drivers are informed more quickly and directly about road works.

“This groundbreaking project, one of the largest of its kind in the world, is only one of the highlights of what we are showing at Intertraffic,” says Carolin Treichl, EVP EMENA at Kapsch TrafficCom. “From C-ITS to sustainable tolling to smart data use, visitors will see the future of mobility management at our stand.”

At this edition of Intertraffic, Kapsch TrafficCom will be all about digitalisation. That ranges from C-ITS deployments that ensure safer mobility to data-driven smart traffic management to road user charging and sustainable tolling practices. The power of the digital transformation is at the forefront of the wide range of products and solutions the company will showcase.

Kapsch TrafficCom is inviting visitors to stop by it stand in Hall 1 and get introduced to its products and solutions in the areas of C-ITS, next-generation tolling and smart traffic management.
