Telvent wins new traffic management contract in China

Telvent has announced the award of a contract from the Beijing Traffic Police to help to expand Beijing’s urban traffic management system. The company will implement its Telvent Smartmobility Traffic technology on more than 200 traffic junctions, which will enable Beijing authorities to improve traffic flow, increase drivers' safety and reduce air pollution.

RSS134 Telvent has announced the award of a contract from the Beijing Traffic Police to help to expand Beijing’s urban traffic management system. The company will implement its Telvent Smartmobility Traffic technology on more than 200 traffic junctions, which will enable Beijing authorities to improve traffic flow, increase drivers' safety and reduce air pollution.

Telvent SmartMobility Traffic allows centralisation of traffic and enforcement management to enable traffic operators to control traffic in real time and be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situation occurring within the infrastructure. Specifically, the following systems will be implemented and integrated on the control centre: advanced traffic management system, red light and speed enforcement system, CCTV surveillance, communications network, etc.

This contract, added to the newly awarded contracts to supply urban mobility management systems on Fushun, Bayannur, Urumqi, Dongsheng and Nanning, improves and consolidates Telvent’s position as a technological leader the Chinese traffic sector. The company has been active in China since 1990, and has participated with great success in a variety of mobility management undertakings in other Chinese cities, including Beijing, Wuhan, Changchun, Zhengzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Nanning and Tianjin.
