Valerann has launched its Lanternn traffic management software.

The company won a CES innovation award in 2020 for its road stud product, but has now pivoted to become a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider.

The system, Lanternn by Valerann, enhances traffic management through its proprietary data fusion engine that analyses real-time and historical data.

It integrates information from sources such as roadside, vehicles and road users, employing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to reveal events and trends which are impacting the road.

The company says the system eliminates ‘noise’ by fusing event indications from multiple sources into one alert, and uses historical data to automate response process planning and recommendations for action.

Valerann adds that the product is a "modular, easily upgradeable, tailored traffic management solution that is inherently flexible in its delivery".

“The mobility industry is becoming increasingly overwhelmed with mountains of data from multiple different sources," said Valerann co-founder and CEO Gabriel Jacobson.

"The challenge is to make sense out of it. The ability to use state of the art AI techniques to filter, cross-validate and contextualise this data in an intelligent way is crucial for real-time traffic management."

Valerann says Lanternn "is now being deployed in control centres around the world".
